Things in Iraq are deteriorating,
And I can’t forestall images of Vietnam from invading my consciousness,
Flashpoint Fallujah,
Might as well be Saigon,
But instead of monks,
Alighting themselves in balls of gasoline,
Its clerics ordering backlash,
Against the American dream,
Freedom,
Cry freedom,
Let virtue knock out vice,
Proclaim victorious,
Democracy,
With out bullets,
Instill respect,
Not fear,
Each and every day more killing,
More violence,
More suffering,
From wayward decisions,
And backroom wrangling,
Save oppression and occupation,
Remove them from the lexicon,
Let freedom reign,
Rather than bullets fly;
How would we react,
If someone infiltrated our homeland?
Teach Iraqi’s fundamentals for life,
Rather than fundamentalism,
Teach them the glory of choice,
But not at the barrel of a gun,
It didn’t work in Vietnam,
Why would it work in the powder keg of the Middle East>
I pray for the brave souls,
Fighting their presidents war,
For their safe return,
And a life not haunted by images of liberation,
I pray for Iraqi’s,
That THEY can save their nation,
I pray for us all,
That one day,
The values that we preach,
Become those that we practice,
I hope and pray,
These words represent a relic,
Of a time long past,
To never return.

?? How ??
How exactly is it democratic to have a republican governor (And family member) and a republican top-heavy supreme court anoint the president of the United States of America? How?

Thoughts from an Idealist
Democracy;
Capitalisms Hoax
Yet we preach,
extol the virtues of the systems as we’re not to proud to boast.
Achievements sure, many great and wide,
though the sinister truth is something altogether different
that only now is becoming difficult to hide:
Not Cheney, not Powel, Rumsfeld or Bush,
nor Clinton, or Reagan or Nixon could push,
for the very fabric of our daily lives is not decided by these white guys.
The White House,
a symbol of the seat of power
but in order for it to work the products we must devour,
consume, consume, consume,
come on my working friends –
Democracy depends on it,
until its very end –
game.
It’s a run, a fast break –
the winner is the one that’s first out of the gate:
America,
the beautiful and the home of the brave,
with a population silenced by their own ignorance,
consumers,
who don’t even vote –
But stand as an example –
Americans who gloat.
Tragic really that democracy is being brought to its close by the gluttony that is CAPITALISM.
Democracies big hoax.

The game is
Like Holmes would say:
The game is a foot
but unlike Holmes my nemesis is not a man.
It is a way of thought
that has led to the gradual erosion of all that was good in this world –
This way of thought puts shoes ahead of shots,
as in needles,
coats in front of caring
and hearths instead of hearts.
Duped into theories delivered by Puppets of the Masters,
we educated masses allow out strings to be pulled –
Oh this nemesis is much more sinister,
as it operates cloaked in the open,
under the guise of democracy:
How is it Democracy if one man can wage war unopposed for up to 90 days?
How is it Democracy if we don’t get a say?
Elections,
sure we vote but Capitalisms voice is heard louder –
I believe this now,
I’ll believe it when I’m 94 –
Unless we’re empowered to cut the strings to change the direction –
This nemesis will grow –
The game is a foot!

Demonstration
I feel the wrath of remorse,
That there was nothing I could do,
Like 99.9999% of the world,
I was an observer,
As democracy,
Became demonstration of might and will,
The Coalition of the Willing,
Now billing,
US!
When is enough enough,
Capitalisms answer,
Never,
Communists,
When they say so,
Lost in ideological boundaries,
Created by a very powerful few,
Those willing to sacrifice,
Principle for results,
Maybe history will show me the fool,
Maybe it will show me right,
Yet,
In this moment,
I’m lost in confusion,
Muddled thoughts of the annals of time,
And I feel red in the face,
As I take my place as a man,
Curious about our collective fate,
If and when we ever wake up,
If and when,
How and why,
Ask yourself!

Reclaim Democracy
Like a prison inmate deprived of food and water,
I feel the solitary confinement of a soul that’s been left in the cold.
Years pass like ages of iron, locked inside the halls of a mind burdened by the promise of tomorrow that seems lost in yesterdays passed.
In a moment of lucidity I can see the stupidity of a system which has at its core the folly of elected officials.
Officials leaving us wanting from the lies apparently told to us for our own protection.
Yet may I project my objection to a system led astray for which millions have suffered on both sides of the global maginot line.
Like the secretly reemerged German army post the Treaty of Versailles,
an army illegitimate is forming right before our eyes.
We vote for leaders electing our collective fate,
but who really puts them there with dinners at 500 bucks a plate.
Inside my mind I am witness to the erosion of the social contract,
as the leviathan of dollars and cents,
preferably American,
slowly but surely secure a greater share in the corridors of power,
not just at my expense, but all of ours
and I am here to state;
RECLAIM DEMOCRACY from the CEO’s,
claim your VOTE back from faceless cash hungry corporations
trying to sell you shoes, TV’s, DVD’s, Food, Pens and even the news.
For each of those have powerful lobbyists in the marble rotundas and your VOTE is supposed to be YOURS.
So from my cell called private property I implore you to consider –
Who’s lobbying for you?
What does your vote really count for?
Are you sure your votes even being counted because I am sure that Phil Knight’s has and I’m not sure why.
I’ve written a cheque, but is democracies bottom line balanced – Ask the folks at Enron or Worldcom.

Curious
Curious –
As I usually am –
At this moment I wonder –
Who in their right mind could be pro – war?
Pro – War?
What exactly does that mean?
Pro – death?
Pro bombs, missiles, bullets and what?
Pro – blood shed, pro – tank;
Pro the usurpation of the rights of humanity?
Of course I can understand the sentiment to support our troops
or the will of the American President.
But Pro – War?
What kind of a fool would say that they are pro – war?
Unless of course its Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Dupont, Dynamics (General) or more –
surely the weight of dollars in their pockets contribute to their rallying cry for war –
Pro – war though?
I am for the removal of Saddam or any other tyrant,
pro – freedom,
pro – choice,
pro – rights,
pro – democracy and pro a better tomorrow,
But I will never be,
pro – war –
Will you?

Difference ACCEPTED... Apply within
How many volumes written in the course of human history on the subjects of love, harmony, peace and respect?
Each piece a valuable and important legacy of our search for something better. That something in the solitude of my soul is always in sight but just beyond reach – We grasp the importance of the search and feel compelled to continue on despite the many obstacles standing in the way of our collective liberation of the soul. Our freedom to choose and ability to discern between right and wrong often stands in the way of our realization of that better world.
Rarely able to put others before ourselves, not necessarily an expression of our lack of understanding rather an inherent confusion of the soul, distracted.
No matter our time and space, democracy or communism, Canada or China, to save our souls we must start a movement of revolutionary proportions without streams that run the colour of blood. No this movement must start with self, an internal dialogue to break down the barriers of confusion, to truly seek new paradigms so that we may shift to a new awakening.
We must learn to accept our differences, we must embrace the fact that there is much we know and much more that we don’t. We must learn to love learning, the acquisition of knowledge to eradicate finally, once and for all ignorance and hate. We must teach each other that although difficult we have a responsibility to hold our tongues if we have nothing nice to say and to scream loudly even if with only one voice in the face of all iniquity. Time bears witness that even a muffled or muted soul inspired can not be held in place. Time and again, volume after volume teach us this very thing.
So my question to you is this: If one voice, one person, one man, one woman or child can change the world imagine how easy it would be to achieve love, harmony, peace and respect if each of us stands to lift our voice for a better world. Our volume, so deafening, would have to be heard:
Rise up!
