Westward Expansion

Can you tell I’m excited,
Can you see it on my face,
Knowing that in the coming days,
I will see the place,
That brought you to me,
Where your early days were spent,
Where you first tasted freedom,
And your true independence was born,
Can you tell,
That with each moment,
As we get a little closer,
I am filled with the joy of a child,
At Christmas time,
For this trip is a present,
To top all others,
Exposing me to the place and places, people and faces,
That helped you chart this course,
Sent you on your voyage,
And somehow brought you to me,
Grateful and excited,
That in the coming days,
I will learn so much,
About you,
And I am,
Inspired!
Aboard the air,
Looking out across the sky,
Seeing two clouds kiss,
One fluffy and white,
While in the distance,
One as gray as the still of night,
Coming together,
Two clouds as one,
The balance of the universe,
Clear to both our eyes,
On our very first flight together,
In bouncing turbulent skies,
A kiss from your sweet lips,
Sends shivers down my spine,
Flying high,
And feeling free,
Removed from any care,
While two clouds kiss,
And a baby’s cry,
My love,
Shines,
Reflecting,
On our,
Westward expansion.
