One Look

With one look of your eyes,
One peering glance,
You break through the chain male armor,
Of a soul that longed for you,
Prayed for you,
Dreamed of you,
With every adult fiber of my being,
Considering virtue,
Fostered by an unshakable faith,
An unprecedented belief,
In the power which understood,
Acknowledged and revealed,
The infinite wisdom,
Of love requited unconditional,
On a foundation,
Of daily discovery and affirmation,
Love,
Angelic grace,
Through virtue understated,
By you,
In the revealing reflections,
Of your eyes,
The universe unfolding,
One atom at a time,
Accelerated,
By promise,
And the realization of potential,
On wings only visible,
By those that truly see,
Through something even they cant explain,
You have come,
And with the grace of the tooth fairy,
My pillow,
Every morning,
Has born the just reward,
For the daring,
The curious,
The scared,
Who can believe,
In the sacred power,
Of a divine trust,
Love,
Wisdom in the revelation of this song,
That glorious song,
All lovers hear,
At the smack of the soul,
Manifested by the lips,
Thank you sage,
Best friend, confidant and every day more,
For unleashing,
Virtues eternal curiosity,
Contemplated,
Love.

Irony

Struck by the irony of sitting in a rail yard
while half a world away many national populations are hunkered down,
some with gas masks,
some with prayer.
Under these lights I can imagine the extreme discomfort of those people,
while all around me people complain of the temperature,
or the rain,
or their clothes
or lack of food,
it is strangely unsettling how relativity changes perception
as people seem too obtusely go through the motions
oblivious to the horror in someone else’s backyard.
Back though to the point, sitting here, in the oil stench filled room,
I know blood is being shed so this aroma will not subside,
at least until all the dinosaur bones have dried –
Fossil fuels for fossil fools,
tonight I pray for the world.

My Prayer tonight...

Closing my eyes I feel history rush past me in a way it never has before,
the last century of progress and advance at the untold cost of millions of lives.
The quiet truth that seems to elude the lips of the men and women
chosen by popular opinion to lead us into the future.
Revolutions,
many of different style and cause,
leading to the establishment of new worlds –
2 world wars,
several communist revolutions,
hot wars of containment to perpetuate the cold war of superpowers –
Puppets to the masters whose strings are nuclear arsenals so I wonder now –
In this war,
whose finger is one the button.
As people die these words leave this pen
my sadness is that history has not been our teacher
and thus our future is nothing but a story already told
with different characters and numbers that seems eerily familiar.
Peace on earth my prayers this night.

63rd Anniversary of D- Day

To all those that gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice so that tyranny did not rule the day I remember you.
To all those that returned home broken never to recover I wish I could give you a hug and make it all okay.
To all those that returned home and made it their mission to ensure the horror would not be repeated I celebrate you.
To all those that suffered indignity, iniquity and endless suffering I wish I could turn back the hands of time and make it all okay, in the absence of that ability let me make a solemn promise; I WILL NEVER FORGET and I WILL LAY DOWN MY LIFE trying to make this world a better place.
To all those reading this are you aware of the sacrifice,
are you aware of the price,
are you aware of what happened then that shaped today?

Take a moment to reflect, say a prayer, be silent and then realize just how fortunate we are that the greatest generation paid the price for freedom.

Thank you will never be enough, but from the bottom of my heart, veterans and the families which too sacrificed; thank you.

THANK YOU!
