Inspire -

I seek sunshine,
In the place of darkness.

I take chances,
For I know not what else to do.

I seem change,
Because stagnation is death.

I long for adventure,
Because I have wanderlust.

I want to inspire,
You to be who you are.

SB - Illuminating Struggle

Probing through the many parts of me,
Those leave me speculating as to where exactly,
I fell off the rails,
Hoping to discover that missing piece,
That completes this transition.

Longing to change,
My current state,
I have embraced each of you,
As the pillars of strength,
That will free me from this burden,
A hellish nightmare I yearn to end.

In a lifetime of frustration,
On each end,
A storied story,
Of a man who longs to find,
I.

To my surprise,
When I let go,
Of those destructive forces,
That had taken hold of I,
The universe replied,
In vibrant tones,
Of love, faith, honour and hope.

Waiting for the laughter to return,
I honour each of you,
For honouring me,
In my hour of need,
One stanza at a time.

Star Above

I look to the stars,
And discover a fire,
Burning inside of me,
A desire to change the world,
Starting with what we see,
Reality,
Relative,
Shaded by perception,
But in this age,
We seem led by deception,
A sly game,
Of three card Monty,
That we’re never meant to win,
Except enough to suck us in,
I smile as in the moons glow,
I begin to realize what we need to know,
It starts with in,
Understanding our souls,
Feeling our spirits,
And learning to let go,
Each moment,
Each hour and day,
Filled with choice and opportunity,
If only we could see,
How beautiful this world is,
And how beautiful it could be,
I look to the stars,
And the great out there,
And wonder will this world ever be fair,
Will we ever right our wrongs,
And realize the hope of our songs,
The dreams of poets, lovers and artists of all sorts,
I see the sky,
And the promise that it makes,
And it starts with me,
That’s all it takes,
We are the champions of our destiny,

What will you choose?

A fool am I

I am a fool,
Yet I am not alone,
I bemoan our system,
But lack, at this moment,
The ability to change it,
Yet,
I pursue better,
With a wandering mind,
And a child’s curiosity,
Some might call my energies wasted,
Hence a fool,
But someday, somehow,
All these words will show,
That I’m not a fool,
I just refuse to believe,
That this world can not be a better place,
And it starts with this fool here!

Progress Concerns Me Thus...

Progress concerns me at this moment.
Or, rather,
the well crafted, professionally developed and sold notion of progress
that we in the industrialized world buy in single serving packages
of Duracell batteries, coca cola, Sony and cigarettes.
We buy, hook, line and sinker
like bottom feeders most things and ideas
that our champions of politics and industry sell us
paying little mind to the consequences of our actions.
Or to those adversely affected by our conspicuous assumption.
McDonalds doesn’t tell us when we order our Big Mac that someone,
somewhere is starving because of our need or desire to have a couple of beef patties
or some crispy chicken.
We’re oblivious while sipping on our coke,
water with some syrup in it that elsewhere people would fight to the death for water.
Madison Avenue,
Bay and Fleet streets don’t want us to live in reality,
they’d prefer us to buy, and we do, the picture book life,
THEY sell us.
What is progress?
It is often said that a team is only as strong as its weakest member.
So, we then are exceptionally weak.
What good is progress if we are leaving so many behind?
What good is progress if it is blind?
Will it change?
Will we change?
Only if You and I demand it –
But we don’t because we are too busy watching quote, reality TV.
Our progress is just as real as the reality shows we watch –
crafted to stupefy and placate.

If you want it...

Through relativity we understand all things.
But, certain things we still have little or no possible conception of.
For example, the earth is absolutely huge yet in the scope of the universe, it, like us is a speck of sand on a massive beach. We are free to roam this earth and now so too do we roam through space, trying to understand just how big this beach is.

Think of the universe as a city, a really big city. In that context think of the planet earth as one little block, an expansive block of six billion interrelated yet practically unknown neighbors. Wouldn’t it be nice if somehow, someway, each of us specks of sand on our block in our cosmic beach could somehow understand the message of history learning the pressing lessons before the deadline called extinction hits us with a tone of finality?

It seems clear that in this age of half truths and fear mongering that there is an absolute assault on the collective morale of our species. As the corporate chieftains of the industrialized world are detailing the newest car or shoe or television or Big Mac they are willingly transforming through corruption and greed the course that this planet will take. Yet perhaps in the exposure of the hidden lies that dramatically affect each of our connected lives we can seek and discover new systems. From the promise of a new day and the safety of our desire to improve the human condition perhaps we can tear down our past failures creating a new enclosure which promises to deliver on age old hopes. Clearly, while we are dangling on a very thin thread it might, might be possible through graphic truth to undo the collective littering on our block.

With this in mind and in your heart, in this movement to a better world I hope that I may recruit you to change the course that we are taking by opening, completely and fully access to truth rather than the lay away installments that our current system allows.

By common agreement we can change the world. By common agreement we can right the future by paying close attention to the many lies of history. Our tactic; freedom of conscience, all you have to do is as Lennon and Ono suggested;

War is Over

(If you want it)

Lets give this world a chance.

True Power Reveals Itself... If you can see!

Its strange as the two sides battle themselves,
I’m curious,
Optimism and pragmatism,
Light and dark,
Millennia of battles fought,
With little really won,
Scraping over acres and oil,
Really nothing more,
Many standing up and paying the ultimate price,
Because there are no abrupt turns in history, right?
Wrong,
So many times reading about, learning about and encountering magnificently good people,
All with a dream,
A vision of a better tomorrow,
That all our lives be enhanced,
And they have been,
On their example,
With them as our foundation
And each other as our strength,
Our conviction unshakable,
Lets show that we can change,
The world one person at a time,
The time has come,
And there in lies our power.
