Another Feast

A feast,
A three-hour tour,
Gastro intestinal treat,
Engaging all our senses,
As the lights dimmed,
And the music played,
Drowned out,
Only by the laughter,
Of our ecstatic joy,
Bring on the salad,
Spinach and shallots,
Red onion and bacon,
Mushroom and goat cheese,
Lets not forget the shrimp,
Port soaked crustinis,
Tossed in a mango orange goat cheese vinaigrette,
Whipped,
Are your taste buds alive yet?
With a sip of meaty chardonnay,
It was time,
Feeling fine,
I filled the pot,
2 lemons,
2 bay leaves,
salt and pepper to taste,
now boil and wait,
with another fine sip,
in about ten minutes,
the lobster did dip,
prior to their soothing Jacuzzi,
the larger female was a little woozy,
grabbing her by the tail,
in a last ditch effort she did flail,
it caught me off guard,
the feeling that she knew her demise,
I could see it in her eyes,
Lifting the lid,
What a rush of steam,
So much so,
We couldn’t hear them scream,
3 and a half pounds,
initially brown then red,
in about twelve minutes our mouths would be fed,
now onto the sauce,
such sweet decadence,
butter and garlic,
and some green onions,
bring to a boil,
now nothing to do,
so open the champagne,
this dinner,
for you.

Seems appropriate given what starts today!
